The St James Community Garden is organized and maintained by members of St James Anglican Church along with members of the wider community of Fenelon Falls.
The garden exists:
- to provide a community gathering space
- to provide gardening opportunities for those who do not have access to land
- to provide gardening opportunities for those who have access to land but who wish to learn to garden
The garden is supervised by members of the community who form a Garden Committee. Normally the committee will always have some members from St James Anglican church in addition to members from the wider community. This Garden Committee makes decisions about the garden, including allocating finances and work.
Start up funds for the garden have been provided by the Diocese of Toronto. In addition, membership fees will be collected by those who rent garden beds. Insurance, water and electricity are covered by St. James Anglican church.
